2014 Round up!

Well we managed it and it took a lot of persuading but Santa did take time out of his very busy schedule to hand out presents to everyone at the school on Wednesday.  I think it is safe to say EVERYONE, including the teachers enjoyed it I know I did! A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA in 2014, whether that be as a volunteer or attending one of our events. As you all know without the volunteers to help organise and run the events none of them would happen.  We are at risk of not being able to hold as many events in 2015 as we have done in the past due to lack of volunteers in the background, so PLEASE make it your New Year’s resolution to give up ONE HOUR of your time in 2015 and ensure that YOUR children do not miss out on the wonderful memories we can create.

News update

A huge thank you to everyone who attended last Saturday's Fayre, whether to help or to browse the wonderful stalls. As you all know the raffle was drawn and a list of winning tickets will be displayed shortly. Now the school has expanded we now have nearly 400 pupils in the school, if only one parent from each pupil was able to give up HALF AN HOUR PER YEAR then that would give the PTA a massive 200 hours per year to organise events, search for donations etc.
If you would like to get involved with the PTA please contact us by email; robinhoodprimarypta@gmail.com, Facebook; robinhoodprimarypta or Twitter; @robinhoodpta.

PTA News 14th November

Thank you to everyone who dropped off their unwanted clothes at school on Monday morning. Thank you also to everyone who has ordered Christmas cards etc. with their child’s beautiful art work on. So far there has been a massive £1,664 worth of orders. I will post a profit figure once we have it.
The raffle tickets have been issued and the winners will be drawn at the Christmas Craft Fayre on the 29th November. A big thank you to Rebecca who has organised the printing and collecting of the monies for the raffle tickets, this is quite a big job so her help is appreciated. Please return stubs, monies and any unsold tickets to the school office.
We do require a number of helpers for the Christmas Craft Fayre so if you are able to help out in any of the following areas please contact us…
· Helpers required to unload the stallholders’ cars 10a.m. until 12p.m. (Due to limited parking this will really help).
· A volunteer to collect the stallholders fee and donation 12p.m. until 12:30p.m.
· Helpers to set up, Friday evening 3:15p.m. until 5p.m. and also Saturday morning 10a.m. until 12p.m.
· Helpers to clean and tidying away after 3p.m. until 5p.m. on Saturday.

News update 24/10/14

What a brilliant disco we had last night. A huge thank you to all the children, who’s behaviour and costumes were amazing. A massive thank you also to the parent helpers and the teachers ensuring that everyone had enough food and fun.

This week we unfortunately say goodbye to our Treasurer, Jane Wardell, who is moving onto pastures new. Jane has been the Robin Hood PTA Treasurer for a few years now and will be sorely missed!! Thank you for all your input Jane! Huge thanks to Jason Firth who has very kindly agreed to step in as Treasurer until our AGM in the New Year when we will hold a meeting to re-elect committee members. We hope you have a well-earned rest next week, not forgetting to have a good clear out for the Skycycle scheme who will be coming to collect your unwanted clothes, linen, bric-a-brac on Monday 10 November.

If you need to contact us you can at robinhoodprimarypta@gmail.com.

PTA News 17th October 2014

Thank you to those who attended last night’s PTA meeting. It was mostly spent discussing the Halloween disco to be held next Wednesday. Please remember all monies need to be handed in to the school office by 3pm on Monday 20th so we can purchase sufficient food for you all. We will also be selling buns from the cafĂ© and would ask if anyone is able to donate any homemade or shop bought buns for this then it would be wonderful if you could drop them off at school on Wednesday. Due to the timescale of the nursery, reception and KS1 disco, it has been agreed with Mrs Dale that if you wish you are able to change your child in their classrooms before the first disco. If anyone would like to contact us to find out how to get involved please email robinhoodprimarypta@gmail.com.

PTA news 10th October 2014

Only two weeks to go to the Halloween disco and we are busy making sure that we have enough food, drink, glo sticks and fun games for you to all enjoy.  Unfortunately at the moment we are rather short on volunteers to help out during the evening.  If there are any parents, grandparents or carers that would be willing to help out, even if just for half an hour, it would be very much appreciated. Please remember without the volunteers, discos and other PTA events would not be able to go ahead.  We need help from 3:30pm until 6:00pm so if you are able to help us out please either speak to anyone connected to the PTA before or after school, I’m usually hanging around Yr3/4 entrance, nursery or reception and Kay is at Yr5/6 entrance.  Alternatively email us at robinhoodprimarypta@gmail.com.

Please note it appears that some of the disco invites are showing an incorrect date. The slip and £1 needs to be returned to the school office by 3p.m. on Monday 20thOctober.

PTA News: 4th October 2014

This week and next will see the invite for the Halloween Disco on 22nd October, going to all pupils.  Nursery, Reception and KS1 will have their disco 3:30p.m until 4:30p.m. and KS2 will have their disco 4:45p.m. until 6:00p.m.  We are still in need of volunteers to help out on the night so if anyone parents, grandparents, carers are able to help out please contact us at robinhoodprimarypta@gmail.com.

We will be collecting any unwanted clothes (even those that are no longer fit for wear), linen and general bric-a-brac after the half term break.  The company Skycycle will be collecting your unwanted items from 9am on Monday 3 November.  This is brilliant way of raising money for the school and this year we will not be having our usual Christmas Fayre so this is an ideal time to clear out any unwanted items ready for Christmas.  Bags will be sent out shortly with details of when and where they can be dropped off.

This year,  we are organising a Christmas Craft Fayre, a number of the stalls have already been booked so, if anyone would like a stall, or knows of friends or family members that would like one please get in touch with Emma Womersley who has kindly offered her organisational skills, womersleys@tiscali.co.uk.

Lastly as Christmas is creeping round the corner, when you are doing your shopping online, if you register with “The Giving Machine” prior to making your purchase then the school will receive a donation from the company you are buying from.  www.thegivingmachine.co.uk, click on “join” and Robin Hood Primary School.
